Middle Age

Tim:  [wearing new sweater]  Like this?  I’m gonna wear it to the party.

Lisa:  hmm.

Tim:  What?

Lisa:  It’s nice, but you look like a middle aged man wearing a new sweater you got for Christmas.

Tim:  [pause].  But I am a middle aged man wearing a new sweater I got for Christmas.

Tim:  I’ll change.

QOTD

Veronica:  “Children.  So adorable.  Almost like people.”

Ted:  “Yes.  That’s why there is a taboo about eating them.”
From Better Off Ted.  I love that show.

Two shots

One of my favorite b-sides, Bono does his Sinatra tribute with great skill. Two shots of happy, one shot of sad.

Dinner with a co-worker!

Yay! Dinner with a co-worker tonight. This marks the first time in quite a while that a co-worker and I have gotten together outside of work. She’s making dinner for my wife and a few of her friends.
We recently moved into her neighborhood, so technically we are both coworkers and neighbors now.

Kate & Mike

Kate & Mike got married this weekend.  We had a blast with everyone – cousins, brothers, sisters, friends.  It is nice how everyone can slip into the familiar so easily.  Even though we only see each other periodically, I love that we are still great friends and that we can make each other laugh and think.

Jogli

I found a beta site for music.  Jogli.com lets you stream music and videos like a lot of sites, but it also lets you hear a whole album, an artist’s hits, or a “station” of similar artists and styles.  It’s like Pandora with videos.  I like Pandora, but Jogli is quickly becoming my player of choice.  I’ve been using it to hear whole albums of artists I know of but not too well.

Really?

Really?  Your company is dying.  Your industry is in a tailspin.  Your customers are fleeing, your products are behind the times, and your company moves at a glacial pace.  “Change” is not in your corporate forecast.  You say you need $25 billion to stay afloat and prevent an economic catastrophe.  And you show up in a private jet with your hand in the taxpayers’ cookie jar?

Really?  WTF?

90 P90X

I finished my p90X program on Saturday.  I substituted the Kenpo for Yoga, because I like the Kenpo more than the yoga.  Something about th 90 minutes of Yoga (which feels like 2+ hours to me) versus the 55 minutes of Kenpo which feels like about 20 minutes.  I’m not as ripped as I had hoped, but I kind of figured that since I wasn’t following the nutrition plan.  I did shed some ugly fat, gained some good muscle, and reshaped my midsection, my face, and my shoulders a bit which is what I was hoping for.  I also seem to have improved my posture, added to my endurance, and found some long lost ab definition.

I decided I would take this week off from exercise, but it is only Tuesday and I am starting to feel like I want to exercise.  Maybe running this week, although it is getting cold out.  We may have some flurries and flakes this week!  I like running in the cold when I am properly warmed up.  I may do some more Kenpo and Plyo – although I was a bit sick of the plyo set.  I can totally see me losing some of the gains pretty quickly if I don’t do some maintenance work – and I don’t want that to happen.  I worked too hard to get here.  I really want to keep steady for the next 6 weeks and then push hard come January and see if another 90 days will get me even better.

I think my 40s are going to be a good decade!

Show Me The Money

So the house has been on the market for about 33 days now, and we’ve had one formal offer, two lowballs, and a third informal offer we’re considering.  I just want to get this done, but I don’t want to get screwed.  Nor do I want to screw, either.  I don’t want to be greedy, I just want fair market price.  I’m also excited about the post-sale.  What will we do?  Where will we go?

To be continued…

NY State of Mind

Bruce and Billy Joel doing New York State of Mind for Barack Obama.  Crappy cell phone video, but great sound!  Also check out John Legend doing Pride in the Name of Love at the same fundraiser.  Great Stuff!
